Doctor, dentist and clinic appointments
Piedmont Rockdale, Piedmont Newton, specialists in Decatur or Atlanta, follow ups and discharges. Booked ahead so the car is committed to the appointment time.
Price Guard Rideshare drives older passengers around Conyers, Covington and the surrounding counties: doctor and dentist appointments, the pharmacy, the grocery store, church, the bank and visits to family. The fare is agreed before the ride, the same driver comes each time, and a son or daughter can book and pay from anywhere. These rides are by appointment, arranged at least three hours before the pickup. It is a taxi service rather than medical transport, so the passenger needs to be able to get in and out of an ordinary car.
These rides are by appointment. Arrange the trip at least 3 hours before the pickup, and the day before for a morning appointment. There is one car and one driver, so booking ahead is what lets us promise your time. Book a day ahead and 10% comes off the trip fare.
Most of this work is simple and it repeats: the same Tuesday appointment, the same grocery run, the same drive home afterwards with the bags. What older passengers tell us they want is not an app. It is knowing who is coming, what it costs and that the car will actually turn up.
Piedmont Rockdale, Piedmont Newton, specialists in Decatur or Atlanta, follow ups and discharges. Booked ahead so the car is committed to the appointment time.
Prescription pickups, the grocery run, the bank, the post office. The driver helps with the bags to the door.
Sunday service, a relative's house, a lunch. Ordinary journeys, priced the same way as any other trip.
One car and one owner driver, so the person collecting your mother is the person who collected her last week and he knows the house.
Adult children out of state book the ride, agree the price in advance and settle it by card in the car. No cash needs to change hands at the door.
A standing arrangement for a repeated appointment or a weekly shop, set up once by phone rather than booked again every week.
Worth reading before you book, because the wrong service on the day of an appointment is worse than no service at all.
Local trips are short and cheap, so a second trip home usually costs less than having the driver sit outside, though a short stop is often free. He will hold the car for up to an hour and no longer. The first 5 minutes are free, and after that waiting is $0.35 a minute ($21.00 an hour), billed on the minutes actually waited and never part of the trip fare. The full 60 minutes comes to $19.25, and a stop short enough to be back in five minutes costs nothing at all.
| If the driver waits | Waiting charge | Against a second trip of $14.50 |
|---|---|---|
| 5 minutes | free | nothing to weigh up |
| 15 minutes | $3.50 | waiting is cheaper |
| 30 minutes | $8.75 | waiting is cheaper |
| 45 minutes | $14.00 | waiting is cheaper |
| an hour, our maximum | $19.25 | a second trip is cheaper |
A second trip of about 5 miles costs $14.50. The two come out level at about 46 minutes of waiting. You decide when you book and you can change your mind on the day: nobody is charged for waiting that was not agreed.
Everything here runs on our ordinary meter: $2.50 to start and $2.40 a mile, with a $10.00 minimum. No surge pricing, no night rate and no holiday rate.

| A short trip across town, about 5 miles | $14.50 | metered |
| A longer local run, about 12 miles | $31.30 | metered |
| Hartsfield-Jackson airport, about 28 miles | $65.00 | flat rate, sedan |

Your first ride with us is 15% off the trip fare, any ride booked at least 24 hours ahead takes 10% off, and veterans and serving military get 10% off every ride, not just the first: tick the box on the booking form. All of them are worked out automatically, with no code to remember. Only one applies to a trip, whichever is worth the most, and none of them discount waiting time.
Nothing to pay here. You get the price first and settle up with the driver at the end.
At least three hours before the pickup, and further ahead is better for a morning appointment. These rides are by appointment rather than on demand, because there is one car: booking ahead is what lets us promise the time. Book a day ahead and 10% comes off as well.
Yes. Rides for older passengers are ordinary bookings for us: appointments, the pharmacy, the store, church and family visits, priced on the same meter as any other trip and agreed before the ride.
Yes, and it is common. You book it, you get the price in advance, and you can pay by card in the car so your parent does not need cash. Give us your number as well as theirs and we will keep you informed.
No. The car is a 2014 Honda Civic LX sedan with no lift or ramp, so the passenger needs to be able to get in and out of a normal car. A cane or a folding walker goes in the trunk with no problem.
For up to an hour, yes. The first 5 minutes are free and after that it is $0.35 a minute. He does not wait longer than that: for a longer appointment he drops you off and comes back for you, which is usually cheaper anyway. The table on this page shows where the line falls.
Yes. Price Guard Rideshare is one owner driver, Cedric Surry, in one car. That is the point of it for a lot of families.
Yes, to the door. Groceries in and out of the trunk and up to the door are part of the ride, not an extra.
Yes. Call and we will set it up once, so a repeated appointment or a weekly shop is arranged rather than booked from scratch every week.
At the end of the ride, by card in the car (Apple Pay and Google Pay work too) or in cash. Nothing is taken when you book.
Upfront, no surge pricing on every trip we drive.
